Building Fabric & Solar PV Drone Surveys

Our Building Fabric & Renewable Energy Drone Surveys offer high-resolution aerial imagery and video capture to inspect curtain walling, façades, windows, cladding, fascia, gutters, and other elevated or hard-to-reach elements without the need for expensive scaffolding or access equipment.
We can identify solar PV defects including hot spots or overheating cells, failed bypass diodes or string faults, cracked or damaged panels, and soiling, shading or installation defects.
Roof Inspections

We provide fast, non-invasive Electronic Leak Testing using low-voltage electrical currents to accurately detect breaches in the waterproof membrane of a flat roof.
This enables precise identification of leaks without disruptive strip-up works, reducing repair costs, minimising downtime, and providing clients with confidence in the roof’s integrity and long-term performance.
Thermal Imaging Drone Surveys

Our Thermographic Drone Surveys use non-invasive, high-resolution aerial thermography to safely assess, roofs, building envelopes, and renewable energy systems. Established in 2008 and based in Eastbourne, East Sussex, Blue Bear Associates is a fully independent building envelope specialist with no affiliations to any manufacturers or contractors.
Our team brings over 22 years experience within the commercial construction industry, supporting clients including Local Authorities, Academy Trusts and Surveying Practices across Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, Kent and beyond.
All our drone pilots hold A2 CofC and GVC qualifications, supported by the appropriate experience, documentation and insurance for commercial drone operations within the UK.
Our fleet of Civil Aviation Authority certified drones are selected according to the specific requirements of each project. This ensures that relevant, high-quality visual and thermographic data is captured safely, accurately and efficiently.
All work is carried out in line with strict Health & Safety compliance, Civil Aviation Authority regulations, and enhanced DBS certification.
Our policy of not undertaking repair work ensures complete impartiality. Every inspection and report is carried out independently, delivering reliable, accurate, and data-driven results.
